  1. But "Autoamerican" isn't a total departure of the classic Blondie sound. There's a couple of fun rock/pop tracks, "Walk Like Me" and "T-Birds" which I believe should've been released as a single. "T-Birds" is my favorite song on this record. My pick for the BEST song on "Autoamerican" is "Angels on the Balcony"/5().

  4. The B-side was Walk Like Me. Blondie also released the singles Atomic and Call Me earlier in , which could explain the seeming lack of singles from Autoamerican.
  5. The basic Blondie sextet was augmented, or replaced, by numerous session musicians (including lots of uncredited horn and string players) for the group's fifth album, Autoamerican, on which they continued to expand their stylistic range, with greater success, at least on certain tracks, than they had on Eat to the Beat.A cover of Jamaican group the Paragons' "The Tide Is High," released in.
  6. * Items below may differ depending on the release. Review Blondie's Autoamerican is a terrible album, but it's bad in such an arcane, high-toned way that listening to it is perversely fascinating. After Parallel Lines gave Chris Stein a carte blanche, it was only a matter of time until he started living out his fantasies of himself as a deep thinker.

  8. The best thing about “Walk like Me” is that, on Autoamerican, it sounds out of place: it’s about something. For the rest, I wonder if the reason Chris Stein is so eager to proclaim the death.
